I purchased this for in home use to help my friend. At first, I almost donated it to a local charity because it was so heavy and awkward. Then I had an incident where my friend fell. By some miracle, another friend who is a medical person happened by and knew how to use it. No one got hurt, thankfully, and it got my handicap friend up and in a chair in minutes with the help of my knowledgeable friend.. I am not donating it now. I suggest that if you do not know how to use it, have someone who does run you through it, preferably with a willing live healthy body.

Why is this frequently returned, according to the Amazon web page (June, 2025). Aside from some small shipping damages, I'm completely satisfied. Have used it a couple times since delivery in May 2025, and it is easy and totally secure feeling. I lifted myself just to see how it felt (and I admit,,t to see if it could be done - just in case). Assembly was easy and the instructions pretty good. For the price, the expected limited frequency of use, this is a solid tool and a good deal.

We bought this as a family member was having stability issues, and fell multiple times. Since purchasing it, they haven’t fell once, but 2 other people in the house tested it out and got each other up and said it will make it easier (and cheaper) than calling the paramedics.

lt is easy to use and its size enables moves from room to room.No need for someone to lift me up when I fall . The sling goes all the way to the floor. I feel safe because of the side hangers that I am able to hold during transfers.

This product works great for our needs. We easily moved my stepdad from the floor to a chair.

Came in just as described and has been a great help in taking care of my sister in law.

This product came with a broken off knob and I had to contact manufacturer and send in a photo of the damage which was not too difficult to do. They gave me a discount applied to my original billing . The item was too large and too heavy to try and return. With that being said the hoyer is somewhat difficult to move from one place to the next…it is very heavy on top of that….it willMost likely serve the purpose but it is not an enjoyable piece of equipment to use….

Great product, it helps me move my 89 year old bed bound mother, without injuring myself and her. It is a great asset to our household. FYI: I had to clear things out of her bedroom to be able to maneuver this hoyer lift safely. Before I decided to get the hoyer, I was pulling my mom up in the bed myself until I injured my back and shoulder. This hoyer lift is a game changer.
