A Great Upgrade with Room for Improvement
I recently purchased the TicWatch Pro 5, and I must say, it's a fantastic smartwatch that comes with notable improvements over its predecessor. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and I'm genuinely impressed with its performance and features. The inclusion of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset ensures snappy performance and smoother multitasking. The responsiveness and speed of this watch are noticeably improved compared to the previous model, making it a pleasure to use.One of the standout features of the TicWatch Pro 5 is its exceptional battery life. With the dual-display technology, combining an AMOLED screen and an FSTN LCD display, the battery life has been significantly extended. I have never run out of battery during these weeks, and I am sure the battery will last more than 5 days if you use the essential mode during the night. Incredible for a smartwatch.Another additional change of the TicWatch Pro 5 that I find quite handy is the crown's ability to enable zooming in and out within maps and various applications. This intuitive control allows for precise navigation and enhances the overall user experience. It's a thoughtful addition that further streamlines interaction with the watch and makes accessing information a breeze. Whether you're exploring a new city or simply browsing through apps, the crown's zoom functionality adds a layer of convenience that I truly appreciate. The health and fitness tracking capabilities of the TicWatch Pro 5 are also impressive. The built-in heart rate monitor, sleep tracking, and step counter provide valuable insights into my daily activities and overall well-being. The accuracy of the sensors is commendable, and the accompanying Mobvoi app is user-friendly, making it easy to monitor my progress over time. While the TicWatch Pro 5 is undoubtedly a solid device, there are a couple of areas where it could be improved. Firstly, I would love to see the inclusion of wireless charging. Although the magnetic charging dock works well, having the convenience of wireless charging would be a game-changer, especially for those always on the go.In conclusion, the TicWatch Pro 5 is an excellent smartwatch that brings substantial improvements over its predecessor. The performance, battery life, and health-tracking features make it a worthwhile investment for tech-savvy individuals. If you're looking for a reliable and feature-packed smartwatch, the TicWatch Pro 5 won't disappoint.

Lightweight, elegant, improved
I've been purchasing Ticwatches for a while now.So far they've been all been great on battery, a great diversity in functionality and improving with each iteration. The Ticwatch Pro 5 is another good example of that. It's very lightweight, more so than the Ticwatch Pro 3 (the best one I have with which I can compare), the bracelet it comes with is comfortable and it still has 2 buttons but with an integrated novelty: a rotating crown. This rotating crown is, from my perspective, the biggest novelty in this iteration of the watch and works as an alternative to slide through the screen with your fingers.Standard behaviour the scroll is for vertical options but you can configure it for horizontal scrolling (e.g.: scroll through the different tiles). It's not the most practical with how small it is but it works well and when you need to scroll a lot turns out very useful.I had a small issue where it once stopped working. Initially I was afraid it was a mechanical issue, as I stopped feeling the feedback, but a simple restart of the watch made everything fine.Another great feature I personally love is the "Essential Mode".Pretty much the watch has a power saving mode that greatly extends it's battery but now, beyond simply giving the time, it also keeps track of steps and pulse while in this mode.It has some extra configurations where it disables the background light during sleep for example. For the time being I also find it to be more fluid than my other watch, which might be a matter of apps installed and what's being used in the background.Beyond these, it has a barometer, GPS, sleep tracking and whole lot of other features to long to list and that will take a long time to try them all out.A downside that I expect might affect some people, it's that it's simply not compatible with WearOS android app on the phone, as it crashes if you attempt to synchronize / add it.I've spoke with customer support and it seems they intend for this watch to be used the Mobvoi Health app. This app though seems to allow synchronization with other apps and health related services so it should cover most scenarios.Overall I can't say it's a revolution from previous versions but it's a great watch, with great autonomy (3 days or more before I have to charge with a more "superficial" usage) and a pleasure to interact with, even more with the rotating crown.I'm not a sports person, so for more casual usage I can say for sure it's very suitable for day-to-day usage it should meet most more common demands.PROS- Rotating crown!- Faster / more fluid (so far at least)- Essential mode- Takes vital measurements (pulse, etc.) even while in essential mode- Lightweight- Compatible with charging cables from previous versionsCONS- Requires Mobvoi Health app. Not compatible with WearOS android app (makes it crash when attempting to connect it)- Rotating crown might be a bit finnicky, once it stopped working and had to restart once to get it to work, but might be software level so addressable

A good Android watch but no updates and sensors work spotty
I used to love this watch due to its great battery life, dual screen and good performance. However, the build quality is terrible. The heart rate sensor on the first watch broke in the first 5 months due to sweat ingress from going to the gym. Bear in mind that it is advertised as swim proof, but sweat destroys its heart rate sensor. The manufacturer did not recognize Amazon as legit seller and did not repair or replace the watch. Luckily, Amazon customer service allowed me to return it to them and refunded me.I bought a second one, which is worse than the first one. It cannot track my sleep at all, it has four-hour breaks in my sleep when it works, at other times, it just does not record sleep at all. I tried wearing anything from loose to tight, but the sleep monitoring was always spotty. Now I bought a 22.5£ Xiaomi Band 8, which works amazing at sleep and health tracking. It literally outperforms the 10 times more expensive TW5 at everything relating to health monitoring and the app is much better made. TW5 is a good smartwatch, but not a health tracker, and its build quality is bad because the heart rate sensor is not insulated enough.
