NOTE: The instructions in the box refer to a 'retention nut' that is not actually part of this particular fan. So what appears to be a missing piece, isn't actually missing, and you can build the full working fan without that piece.We ended up buying 4 of these fans for around the house, and a month later they're all still working perfectly. Sturdy base, powerful airflow, easy to tilt, smooth oscillation, reliable timer function, handy remote controls. Much sturdier and sleeker than the flimsy efforts you usually see on the market: no twisted metal or misaligned screws here.Settings 3 and below are whisper quiet. Settings 4-8 make a typical amount of unobtrusive white noise. Settings 9-12 are very powerful, and do make a loud whirr, but I find I only need those settings during a heatwave. On an average June day, setting 5 is perfectly adequate to cool my smallish living room.Assembly took a little time because the instructions weren't clear, and there were no diagrams, so that could be improved. No tools are required, but an optional small screw makes the fan cover more secure. The remote control comes ready to use, you just have to pull a plastic tab out to get started. The remote works from several different angles, not just head-on. Handy when you're on the other side of the room.

Easy to put together and a good little fan you can have freestanding or attach it to your wall.

While the stand really could be better, and I’d expect it to be for the price, the fan itself is fantastic.

I already had one of these so knew it would be fab, remote control or buttons on top of the fan, 3 speeds and a timer. This can be stood tall or small for a desk etc, recommended and great price.

What a load of rubbish!! Don’t waste your money, sent me two of the same feet so it doesn’t go together for a pedestal. Tried as a desk fan but it just shakes way to much and I wouldn’t trust it for leaving on in my daughters bedroom.Absolutely rubbish, not worth the money at all. May as well throw it in the bin it’s that much use!!!

So, it was easy assembly, so no problems with that.Also, its alot better than the old fan I had, number 1 speed on this B&D fan is alot stronger than the highest speed on my old fan. So that's great.However... to assemble as pedestal fan, the knob on the back that's meant to keep the base secure, kept bending the metal inside (see pic 1) and having a young child and a hyperactive dog, that was unsafe...So I decided to use it as a desk fan. The instructions said use the same base screws the secured the pedestal, to secure fan to the round base.... the base screws used on pedestal were the wrong size for the round base!!! So I had to find similar sized screws to secure this base (see pic 2)Overall- the actual fan is god, but the parts are cheap and not well made

It's a good fan but it doesn't oscillate :(
