Star Wars Science Jedi Force Levitator - Uncle Milton

This toy is surprisingly fun! My 7 year old wanted to buy it with his birthday money but I tried to discourage him after reading some poor reviews. So glad he was persistent because our whole family has gotten a kick out of it. My son is absolutely amazed that he has the "force"! It does take a little bit of practice and "jedi training" to get it to levitate but that was part of the fun too. I could see how the floating objects could tear easily as they are delicate but just have to be careful. So far, no tears and are happy with the purchase.

The idea is cool, but the reality of the light foil pieces does not live up to the idea. You start with limp pieces of foil that have some cuts in them. You aim the stick at them and the static electricity causes them to expand, forming a shape that is roughly dictated by the cuts in the piece of foil. the problems: you have to get the stick "right next" to the foil (not at a distance as shown on the box); the foil is very fragile and unless you treat it like gold, you wind up with pieces of foil, instead of shapes. I would not recommend this at all. It has not been played with since the short hour of fun it provided after being opened.

After my nephew opened this gift, he was gone playing for hours! It is a neat way to teach science while having fun. The wand is a cheap looking cardboard, but it is sturdy and handled hours of play well. The little "metal" shapes are like a mylar material and flimsy, but one you wave the wand over them, they pop into shape and fly around the house at the whim of the wand wielder. It was awesome. The kids had hours of fun, the materials did not fall apart and I was the cool aunt!!

It is a fun little game for kids. The material is flimsy, which is understandable for making it work with static electricity. It is good if you can get it for a price below 25 dollar

This is a very cool item that my kids love, but you have to be aware that the mylar pieces are very fragile. My son broke two of them taking them out of the box, which was very disappointing, but fortunately there were enough left that he could still use. I would recommend having an adult remove the mylar pieces gently and storing them in a place where they will not get ripped. There is a refill pack available for purchase separately (about $7 at Toys R Us), which my son will likely buy to replace the parts that broke. I would recommend taking great care with the mylar parts and if you have a rough and tumble child, this may not be the right toy for him/her.With that caveat, my son enjoyed learning about static electricity and how he can use it as if it were the force to push and pull objects. Very cool concept with one big drawback.

OH MY! This is the greatest toy ever. I gave this to 2 of my grandsons for Christmas and hoped it would work. The Jedi Force Levitator works and works well! Now the rest of my grand kids want one. They are fun and all the young ones were laughing and having fun with it. Just be sure to order the extra deflectors because you will probably need them in no time. Also try the levitator with other things that are known to have static electricity.

Easily my son's favorite Christmas gift. The foil is a bit flimsy, but works even broken. Hours of science-y jedi fun!

I bought this for my nephew for Christmas, and I guarantee the moment I left is the moment he stopped playing with this toy forever. The items you levitate are basically very thin silver metallic ribbon - they nearly tear taking them out of the packaging. And it takes a couple tries to figure out how to levitate the items, so if you get too close the wand thing sucks these ribbons in like a vacuum and tears them. The big circle one got stuck to my shirt, and when my nephew used the wand to 'vacuum' if off it was like a thousand little semi-painful shocks happening in the matter of seconds. Waste of money. I only gave it two stars because he really enjoyed playing with it for the 20 minutes that he did.
