I recently purchased this rice cooker with a steamer attachment, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! Waw what can I say, it say a rice steamer but I've pushed this little machine now to it's limits.I've made complete rice meals with vegetables rice and fish and meat in this rice cooker big enough for two or maybe three depending on what size meal you eat.So this was today's Sunday dinner all , the potatoes carrots in the bottom with stock to just above them, the flat green beans and apple slices in the top with chips on top.It cooked for half an hour and then I dusted chops in flour finished then off in the frying pan only through choice they were beautifully steamed tender.Used the stock with juices dried down for crave , you can just add another stock cube and cornflour and bobs your uncle.It's incredible I've made Indian meals, Cajan Gumbo, Ive made chillie concanre , I've made lentils rice quinoa with vegetables, drive fish vegetables , steamed chicken breast rice vegetables, can make a stew just leave off the top steamer compartment , I've made American dishes too Chinese rice with vegetables and calsmari, and just British meals it will also steam finding and also dumplings in stew, so many things.This was today's Sunday dinner incredible for the price great to a flat 2 people with a hot plate to brown off, great for elderly all in one place cook no extra pots pans and all cooks at once on about 30 to fourth minutes too Fantastic proof is in the pudding the photo of dinner before gravey

I bought this to cook rice for my family. There are three of us and this is ideal. It looks quite stylish and I actually like the simple way it stacks up. It doesn't take too much space on the work top either.We eat rice about once or twice a week and have had it about 3 months now so we seem to be over the two month barrier some users have complained about. We have tried it with three different brands of basmati rice (our favourite) and have found it works well with all of them although the cheaper brand needed more rinsing and the top brand produced the best results.We spray a little oil onto the base of the bowl, to minimize sticking, then add rinsed rice and finally water. We have about 60g or a 1/3 cup of rice each but sometimes add a little extra. We find anywhere between 1.5-2 x water to rice ratio works fine. It takes about 15-18 mins to switch from 'cooking' to 'keep warm' so we usually put it on before making a stir-fry or towards the end of cooking chili. Contrary to what some reviewers say there IS an on/off switch on the cooker, a small black one, on the outer bowl, towards the back but under one of the handles. Our cooker is always plugged in but switched off. Switching the switch to 'on' puts the cooker on the warm function and once the rice and water is ready to go on, we switch it from 'warm' to 'cook'.Now, there is ALWAYS a layer of rice stuck to the bottom of the pot. It can just be starting to turn brown but is never burnt and it is actually quite pleasant to taste as it is slightly crispy (like a very thin rice cake).We have only used the steamer once, to cook some tender stem broccoli over our rice. It was not soft enough so had to go in a pan of boiling water to finish off. It has to be said that although their are SOME instructions on how to cook the rice and lots on how to care for the cooker, there are absolutely no recommendations on how to use the steamer. Perhaps the problem was that you can't steam veggies over cooking rice, or that if you do, you have to leave it on warm for an extra 10 mins or so. We will have to try again and see if we can perfect the steamer function. If I master it, I'll update this review accordingly.Overall 8 out of 10 for this Rice Cooker. I would recommend it to other buyers.UPDATE: Now October 2021 and we've had our cooker since September 2019 and it is still going strong. Looks a little less stylish as it is a bit battered and bowl has a slight dent but still works as well as the day we bought it. Have managed to steam fine green beans over rice a few times with perfect results.

Good one. Working perfectly after one year

A great cooker for the price and works perfectly. I have tried different grains of rice and always cooks to perfection. Steamed veggies with rice is just convenient.

This is brilliant I can cook rice and eggs at the same time cook vegetables. It's so easy. My children are able to use it safely. I would recommend for convenient.

A simple design that does not intrude on your kitchen worktop. Very easy to use. Affordable.However, you have only two choices - cook and warm. As soon as you plug in, it starts to cook (there is no on or off button). Once cooked it does auto switch to 'warm' but actually the 'warm' setting keeps cooking it largely so you end up with mush or goo - if you use less water you would burn your rice so it does not regulate it at all. Also the lid sits in yes, but not fully sealed, so if you fill it to half way with water and rice - it spits out goo onto lid, work surface and objects around it - not a lot - but some. My advice is to spend a little more on a more professional rice maker. I would not recommend this product.
