Great value for the price
I think these are all 4 pole 12 position switches but they include a stop to limit the number of positions. For the money these are awesome switches, including the knobs!

Compact and adjustable number of positions
These are small enough to fit is a tight space. I was especially looking for a nine position rotary and the drop in clip allows this switch to be configured as a 2 to 12 position single pole. To set the limit clip, first rotate full CCW, then select the desired number of positions, drop the tab on the clip into the marked slot (number is on the left of the slot) and add the lockwasher and nut. If you do not rotate full CCW first you can get trapped on the CW side of the limit clip.

Some direction would be helpful for the novice
These are Pcb mount devices. However they are very sensitive to the amount of pressure exerted when forcing them into the Pcb. I have made my own Pcbs with autodesk eagle software, but the mounting holes need to be slightly larger than 1mm. If the switches are forced into smaller holes the internal pads are misaligned and can create contact problems. Otherwise, the switches behave as designed when the stop washers are installed properly when the switch is turned all the way CCW

Decent construction. Hardware and knob included.
The switch index can e set by inserting a washer that is keyed. This will limit the rotation so if you only need a 2 or 3 position switch it is easy to “lock out” the positions you don’t need. This is typical of these types of switch constructions. Worked for me!

Works great on model RR turntable tracks.
This is a 12-position rotary switch that turns in a full circle -- 30 degrees per position. I used it to provide power to one track at a time around a model railroad turntable. If you don't need a full circle with 12 positions, it comes with a limiting washer that can stop the arc at 2-11 positions. Easy to mount on a 1/8" panel with included nut & lock washer. Pins for the power wire and the output poles accept standard Dupont pins so you don't need to solder the connections and can vary the poles you connect to easily.

This switch can be programmed to your needs!
I was looking everywhere to find different types of rotary switches that I needed for a project, finally found these that are amazing! you can configure them the way you need. Really a bright idea in this design.Well designed, well constructed and at reasonable price.Highly recommended.

Ok
Appears to work pretty good, but the knob is really hard to rotate, and the odd placement of the pins makes them very difficult to use unless you have a custom PCB board, or an application that specifically requires this as a replacement part.

Not 4P3T Switches, kind of like a weird 1P12T
These are not 4P3T switches, though I am not even sure what I would call them. There are 4 poles, but 12 throws. But, only 1 pole is active per throw, so only 1 pole circuit is being used in each position. Instead of having 3 switch positions, where center pins A-B-C-D each map to 3 output pins (you know, every real 4P3T switch in the world), there are 12 switch positions. This means, it is more like having 4 independent switches in 1 body, where only 1 switch can be activated at a time. I cant even think of a use for these unless I just route the 4 poles together and then I have a 1P12T switch (maybe time to make that discrete EQ I've been think about, hmmmm). For those interested in the mapping:Pos 1: Pin A to Pin 1 closed, all contacts openPos 2 : Pin A to Pin 2 closed, all others contacts openPos 3 : Pin A to Pin 3 closed, all others contacts openPos 4 : Pin B to Pin 4 closed, all others contacts openPos 5 : Pin B to Pin 5 closed, all others contacts openPos 6 : Pin B to Pin 6 closed, all others contacts openPos 7 : Pin C to Pin 7 closed, all others contacts openPos 8 : Pin C to Pin 8 closed, all others contacts openPos 9 : Pin C to Pin 9 closed, all others contacts openPos 10 : Pin D to Pin 10 closed, all others contacts openPos 11: Pin D to Pin 11 closed, all others contacts openPos 12 : Pin D to Pin 12 closed, all others contacts openThe fact these are listed as 4P3T is blatantly false, even though there are 4 poles inside the switch, the best description I can think if is 1P12T, since no poles can be activated at the same time.
