We have to give the writer applause for his grasp on language and his perspective and the ability to explain things. With that said, except for the young love relatability , there is nothing special. I found it unbelievable that the grandma willingly let the granddaughter go with her boyfriend in the night and the funny thing is she asks him to get her back before dawn. Kitty parties in USA in 1990s were not a thing. The chaos happening in the twin towers was confusing. One moment the character seems to be going to India with the family, the other moment he is in another building ( twin towers) panicking to save his life. Everybody reminding the main character constantly about her past love was so unbelievable. The change in mother’s heart, the follow up of her husband about the past love( writing letters to the ex-boyfriend), the main character’s beauty being praised by the boyfriend’s wife were unconvincing. Which mother bring’s up the past love topic in her daughter’s life and constantly reminds her about it. Especially when the mother herself went to great lengths to break them both up. This story is created with 3 ideal character’s who are extremely open-minded and positive about the protagonist Sarika. I understand the story revolved around her. But the constant praise on her character from other characters is nauseating. And she is not even that perfect. The only sensible thing is that the boyfriend Abhiram understanding his lack of ability to take care of her and letting her go. Apart from all these, I am appreciative of the writer pursuing this path when everything has become social media based. This writer took us back to books.I applaud that!
