Transcend 16GB JetFlash 700 Super Speed USB 3.0 Pen Drive

The device looks nice and has a simple but still elegant design. Fits in the hand comfortably. But there are some problems1) Its black glossy finish is full of scratches within 15 days use. - so the finish could have been better.2) It is undetectable on older systems or say that the USB device is not recognizable. Buy it only you all have some pretty new hardware to deal with.3) Its quite plastic so feels cheap sometimes and yes the cap has to remembered all the time else it can get lost easily.4) Space available : 14.8GB USB 2.0 Write Speed : 11.5MB/s Read Speed : 32MB/s USB 3.0 Write Speed : 21MB/s Read Speed : 63MB/sGood Product from Transcend. But Transcend has a long way to go in USB 3.0. Value for money at steal deal of 485.

Thanks to amazon for responding quickly. Ordered it and it had a little defect- the blue LED Indicator was not working. Amazon sorted it out.Pros:Performance wise- this pen drive rocks. It is really fact. Copies at 22 odd MBPS speed on USB 3.0 port.Cons:Warranty is a huge setback. You've to walk in and the person there will tell you that it will take 2-3 months for replacement. 2-3 months to replace a pen drive? Seriously? That's a big No-No.Pray your stars that you never have to avail the warranty even if it comes with lifetime warranty.

Have been using for past 8 months and i could find any decay in data copy or any Languish in responsiveness.This is my 2nd Transcend flash drive. The first one worked for 4 continuous years before it got stolen. This one too performs with top physical acuity.I would strong recommend to all who are looking for a 16 GB pen drive, be it for any purpose. I am sure it will suffice to every need and cater for a complete ROI.

I Received it by 27th june( A Day before the estimated delivery), Over all service by amazon is excellent, highly securely packed that protects the product.-This pendrive has 14.7GB storage capacity-Transcend Elite Data Management software is not present in the device, however thats not a big issue you can download it from [...] if you need it.-Dimension: 61.5 x 18.59 x 8.7mm-Weight: 8.5gPros:-This pendrive has very good writing speed (11MBPS) on usb 2.0(I still did't check it on 3.0, hope the speed will be more that 11mbps)-Compact and has very good appearance.Cons:Only proplem is that you have to secure your pendrive cap from lost lol.A worthy product for 499/- so soon grab it before the stocks get over.My over all experience is 100% Excellent.Thank you amazon !! This was a pretty decent product that I got for a good price. Review for the product is with respect to its price.Pro :1) Fairly cheap2) Good delivery3) Worked like a charm (while it lasted)Cons :1) The only thing I had an issue with is it kind of stopped working. To be fair it worked for over 2 years, but to be clearer it never was put under lot of data cycles. I had some data backed up on it, and have possibly just used it 5-10 times to copy data from PD to PC. Later when I started using this for data transfer, it stopped working fairly soon.Overall, it was good while it lasted and is worth a buy if competitively priced.

If I compare this product with other product then I must say that after couple of months, other productwill reduce their transfer speed but in here transcend beat all of them. I have my personal experience regarding this.It is must if you want to copy or cut. You can not compare its speed quality with others. Quality matters and here Transcend fulfill this.

Works like a champ with my Raspberry Pi running Rasplex. I've installed the operating system on there and now the Raspberry Pi is much more responsive. I'm using it as a media centre and this device is perfect for that as the light is not too bright. This setup has been going the best part of a year and shows no sign of trouble.As a drive, this device is sleak, simple and clean. I'm a fan of the (older, non-neutered) OCZ Diesel flash drives. I am also a fan of Transcend flash drives in general. Reading the reviews here, I was a bit worried before I purchased the 16GB JetFlash 700. I'm glad I did purchase it, though. This is the fastest performing USB flash drive I own. I've not benchmarked it to compare 'measurements' with other drives, but I also don't buy 'performance' flash drives with flashy enclosures for obscenely high prices, either.I do not own a USB 3.0 capable computer, but none of the flash drives I own (including this one) have flash chips that seem capable of exceeding the interface speed of USB 2.0, let alone USB 3.0. The folks on here complaining about USB 3.0 not making a difference with the performance of this drive are simply not familiar with the detailed reality of the technology they are using. The bottleneck is not the USB port on their computer, it's typically the flash chips.I'm using the two of these I have as diagnostic boot drives running OS X Lion, and will likely end up purchasing more of these things in the relatively near future as they are nearly as responsive as a USB 2.0 hard disk at boot. Hopefully the 32GB version will be available thru Amazon directly one of these days, as I need to update my larger capacity flash drive collection soon.

Transcend is one of my favourite memory device manufacturers and I use their SD cards in my digital cameras and their USB memory sticks with my Macintosh computers.I have several memory sticks with a larger capacity (32GB and 64GB) but this 16GB model was purchased with a specific application in mind. I have stored on it a stripped down version of my Macintosh operating system (OS X) and equipped it with all the software tools and utilities to enable me to fix my computer should it go wrong. Disk corruption can cause minor problems but it can also prevent the computer from starting. By placing a copy of OS X on a memory stick I can optionally boot (startup) from the memory stick and use the tools and utilities upon it to get my computer working again. This often means fixing some minor disk corruption on the computer's internal hard drive. Of course, booting from a 'clone', an external hard disk drive (HDD) with an exact copy of the computers own HDD, will do the same job but the cost will be much higher. Memory stick prices have dropped faster than small HDDs.It is also possible to boot from a recovery CD, if one is provided, but this can take quite some time because there are mechanical components involved. By using a memory stick to boot the computer, startup time is cut to a fraction of that achievable from a disk (CD/DVD) and an optical disk drive, which may not be functioning due to the corruption.A USB memory stick is a perfectly acceptable 'emergency boot device' because it is truly solid-state and has no moving parts. But it is very important to choose a memory stick which has a fast 'read access' rate and the Transcend 16GB JetFlash 700 Super Speed USB 3.0 Drive meets this objective easily. The Transcend has a fast 'write access' rate too but this feature is less important in my particular application.I use Transcend memory sticks with Macintosh, Windows and Linux computers and I have never encountered a compatibility problem. They just work.
