As someone who does a lot of illustrating, I admittedly purchased this for myself. However, given the price especially with a coupon added, getting a hundred sheets is pretty decent, and if you're buying for more than one kid the fact it comes in two books is nice. The paper is quite smooth, without much grit if at all. If you are an artist in need of back up paper or like to smudge a lot, I would recommend. If you prefer a grittier page look elsewhere. If you're just looking for drawing paper for little little ones, find the cheapest option you can find--- this may be it!

I ordered this pack of two sketchbooks for my toddlers. I'm a SAHM, and we do crafts nearly everyday - so having a good quality sketchbook/notebook for them to color in is essential. Overall, I'm mostly pleased with the quality of this set. First, the notebooks arrived well packaged and free of any bends or damage. And considering you get two in the set, the price point is great. The spiral is sturdy and the notebooks themselves seem to be well made. The reasons I gave these four stars instead of five is first, the paper is thinner than I would have preferred. My kids are still young and fairly heavy handed when it comes to coloring and painting, and the pages bleed through a bit.. even when using basic Crayola markers. It's not a huge issue, but causes some unnecessary waste when the paper underneath is "unusable" because of the bleed through. I just don't feel like the "heavy duty" aspect lives up to the advertisement. Second, the pages aren't perforated. They still tear out fairly easily, but you're left with a jagged end and a bunch of tiny pieces of paper that fall all over the place. If your child is someone who likes to keep their artwork all in one place it's not a big deal, but my kids enjoy hanging their 'masterpieces' on the refrigerator, and these pages don't tear out cleanly.

My daughter LOVES to draw and is constantly doodling away.I've been trying to get her to do more art IN a book though, so it's contained and I don't have a million pieces of random paper floating around my house.These sketch books are so nice! They are spiral bound and they open/close so easily. They're the perfect size - whether you want to draw a bunch of small things on one page, or do bigger drawings with scenery/backgrounds (which is what my daughter typically does).You simply can't go wrong with this pair of sketch books!

This is for a set of two large drawing books. Each book is 9 x 12 and has 50 sheets of drawing paper in it. The price is steep for just paper, but drawing paper is special and is smoother and thicker and much more appropriate for sketching, drawing, painting. I know every sheet of this paper will be put to good use by my granddaughters. When children love to draw, I think they should be provided with quality supplies to enjoy their projects and that their projects turn out the best they can.. I’m very pleased to have purchased these two quality books.

These sketchbooks are ideal for pencils & pens; if you wish to use markers or paints, I'd suggest you place a cardboard (those from an 8" x 11" used up tablet are ideal) or plastic sheet (something stiff, of course) under your page to avoid bleeding through. They're spiral bound for easy page turning. Best of all, they come in packs of 2, so you've got lots of paper for future mastepieces.

So these are good for sketching or drawing with pencils, pens, colored pencils and crayons. I would not recommend using markers or paint though because those will bleed through since the pages are fairly thin. It's very flexible so if you intend on using it in a car definitely bring a hard surface to put underneath. The pages move smoothly through the spirals, but take note that there's no perforation when tearing the pages out so they don't tear cleanly. All in all I'd recommend, decent for the price point.

This is a great sketch book! Overall is good quality of paper and the spiral bound materials. The paper size I would call thin, but not too thin that it'll break easily, but I don't think it would sit upright without support. The paper is not perforated either, so if you want to rip it out it will need cut or have the spiral cut outs on it.

I've done a few sketches in this book and the paper is nice. It isn't the highest quality paper I've used but it also isn't the worst. I think it is worth the price.
