Works with Otterbox Defender cases
I've been looking for a good mobile controller for some time. None that I have tried or looked at have checked all the boxes and the Gamesir G8 Plus Galileo has it's own shortcomings. With that being said, it strikes a great balance for those looking for a console controller feel. I don't need to deep-dive into what others have already covered such as the hall effect sticks and triggers. The app leaves a lot to be desired and frankly, I don't even bother with it. So I'll just list my personal use case pros.1) It will hold Galaxy S24 Ultra's and iPhone 15 Pro Max's without having to take a protective case off. I've always put rugged cases on my phones and these two expensive phones are no exception. I have the Otterbox Defender Series on both of these which are the bulkiest cases around. The controller holds them firmly without them wiggling around or feeling like they could fall out. This was flat-out the most important aspect of my purchase because I absolutely HATE taking a phone in and out of cases!2) The controller uses Bluetooth rather than a USB-C connection. Every time I inserted my phone into my Backbone controller, I felt concerned about damaging the port or scratching the phone up. The Bluetooth nature of this controller also has the benefit of allowing me to swap phones out on the fly. After pairing the controller to both phones, I simply press and hold the circle button under the D-pad along with "B" to toggle it to my Galaxy S24 Ultra, or hold the circle button under the D-pad along with "Y" to swap over to the iPhone. It's really that simple. Note that the controller will stay in whatever mode you last used until/unless you change it.3) The control stick caps are nearly identical to those on a PS5 DualSense controller. They are very responsive. The shoulder buttons (LB, LT, RB, RT) look and feel nearly identical to those found on an Xbox Series controller.4) The handles have a nice curve to them to help them sit comfortably in your hands. I don't have huge hands, but controllers like the Backbone have very little to hold onto and cause my hands to cramp up in no time, much like trying to game on a Nintendo Switch.5) The rubberized sides that hold your device in-between the grips are slotted. Since most phones have the lower speaker pointing from the bottom of the phone, I was concerned that the sound would be muffled. The slots allow the sound to pass through nicely. As for the negatives...1) No headphone jack. This may be a big deal to some or a non-issue to others. For me, it's a non-issue as I typically game with either earbuds or my Heavys connected through Bluetooth.2) The aforementioned app is pretty much just meh. I pretty much game by muscle memory with the controller layout and have rarely if ever changed a layout be it on console or mobile. So the buttons being A, B, X & Y instead of Circle, Triangle, Square and X doesn't really bother me. If you decide to use this controller for a Nintendo Switch, you can swap the buttons out.3) It's kinda heavy. The controller has quite a bit of heft to it which could tire your hands out depending on how you are sitting, laying, etc. while playing. add a heavy flagship phone in the middle and it gets worse. For all the features and the build quality which is quite good, I don't really mind but it is something people should be aware of.All in all, I find that this controller is well worth the $80 (current pricing). It's $20 cheaper than the Backbone controller and $50 cheaper than a comparable Razer controller. There are cheaper options out there but for everything this controller offers, it's build quality and the fact that it actually holds phones inside Otterbox Defender cases I would definitely recommend it.

Great controller, good feel
Top tier Bluetooth controller for phones. Works perfectly with my Galaxy Z Fold7, on both Steam Link and Xbox Remote Play. The feel is also very nice. Actually feels solid like an Xbox controller, rather than just slightly small like most controllers felt in the past. Great stuff!

Great For Large Tablets
This controller is awesome! Giving it a little nudge forward and back when expanding it very easily stretches to fit even larger tablets than for which it was designed. I have mine on a Samsung S9 Tablet and the hold is strong, and I've had no issues with the controller. If you plan to use this with XBox Game Pass, you may need to download additional software to make it recognize it as an XBox compatible controller. Thankfully, this has the ability to also switch between game pad types - emulating a Switch, Android and Playstation.

Great controller overall, but still not perfect on iPhone, get ready for some frustration.
Ok, overall, it's great, good size for big hands.Makes me confident to play games unlike some smaller controllers that just don't end up feeling right.Love that the sticks are swappable, and the fact that they're hall effect, means they should be the longest lasting sticks around. Here's the big caveat, for me. Houston we've got a problem. Many games now are smart enough to look at what kind of controller is connected, even on mobile, which is impressive that companies are putting that much thought into mobile games again. That being said, on the g8+, if you're using an iPhone, it connects as if it's a Playstation controller. I'm sure that's for best compatibility or features or some such, but there's a problem in that. It's got xbox buttons... So when games are smart enough to look at what buttons to display for the prompts and such, now it shows Playstation buttons. I've been a Nintendo and Xbox gamer for the majority of my console gaming life, and while I have some playtime with PS controllers, it pales in comparison with my familiarity of the standard abxy layout. This is far from the end of the world, and some games go above and beyond and let you override the button prompts to match whatever you want, but not all of them..This isn't enough for me to return the controller, but it will irk me until the day I move on to a new controller most likely. The buttons are replaceable as well, so I thought well maybe gamesir will have different buttons to drop in?? Nope, there are some 3d printed ones available, but they look terrible and presumably feel worse. In the end, for the price, it's a good controller, but for a few bits of over missed marks, it's not perfect.
