I was pleasantly surprised by this trimmer. It's more powerful than I thought such an inexpensive model would be, and it's very lightweight - our old one used to make my forearms sore if I did the front & back yard at the same time, but this one hasn't made my arms sore once. And the safety button is very easy to use, so I don't have to hold it weird or hurt my hands to get it going. My one complaint is that I wish the pole were longer - I'm only 5'3" (160 cm), & it's just long enough for me. My much taller husband has to kind of hunch over, which isn't really comfortable for any length of time. I guess I'm the chief weed killer now....P.S. The little plastic blades seem kind of flimsy, but they worked great on every kind of weed we have, even ivy vines - the first one finally broke when I accidentally got too close to the actual woody trunk of a small tree. But the blades are easy to change, and it came with several, so to me that's not a drawback.

This is my 3rd purchase, not because it doesn't work, I tightened the nut crocked on one & the other one I did something wrong with the cap when putting it together. I figured if I got another GardenJoy I'd have three batteries so I could weed wack longer. This one has the same size & shape but it has prongs on the bottom & my other ones were flat. The instruction booklet with this one was different too. My other ones had better instructions, more detail. I would advise caution when assembling so the screw/nut don't 'freeze' together. I am older with a bad back, I ask my neighbor if he could get it apart and he said the screw was stripped.

I was reluctant to buy this item It's appearance lightweight and not heavy duty is accurate.... I went against my better judgment and purchased it anyway just to see. It's motor is extremely weak. I assembled it and assembly is fairly easy. The problem is the manufacturers construction joints on the three section stick length. These connecting joints are manufactured weak. light grass topping to test it out on a small section within 8to10 minutes of using the item the fully charged battery already drained from a very small test patch of grass topping. As the battery died the entire bottom 1/3 section of pole joint completely fell off the weed wacker disconnected and onto the ground. I was already concerned as the battery was already dying but literally simultaneously the bottom 1/3 section completely fell off. Upon further inspection it was missing manufacturers factory installed bolts during the manufacturing assembly process. It had absolutely nothing to do with my assembly. So this item is meant for maybe a 10x10 small patch of ornamental grass or one or two shrubs and that's it based on the small amount of battery time. I mean the battery is smaller than the average fist and plugs in to the handle. The joints are also weak. So this is for something that's very very light minimal work that you need to have done in less than 10 minutes. Also the joints can't handle any kind of left right movement that you would normally do when topping grass of the seed stems. I mean I wasn't even using it for thick grass it was like sparsely grown slightly tall grass and the battery died so quick. I couldn't believe that it literally fell apart...

The height of this product cannot be adjusted up but can be made shorter. I found that that put a strain on my arms since I couldn’t adjust it higher. The battery life is also very short, might need to purchase another battery to switch when the other dies.However, it is a powerful tool and does the job.

Small, lightweight, easy to use & transport. Bought this for camping in the wild so i can knock down weeds around camper door. Charges quickly & runs longer than expected (some reviews said it lasted about 20 min but I’ve gotten longer out of it, maybe depends on what you are trimming). I love the 3 options for trimming, have used it many times & havent broken any blades yet. Definitely buy it again.

This is such a good buy for your money. It is a powerful tool. I have been using it to cutdown some very large 3 foot tall weeds in an empty horse property. It works amazingly well with the metal blades attached. It just powers through thick weeds and brush. By the time the battery wears out I'm pretty tired and ready for a break. This little battery can run for 45 minutes of heavy shrub cutting. It is very lightweight so I was concerned it wouldn't work so well but it does a great job. It's very easy to use. There is a button in the side of the handle you have to push in to start. Once you have the handle pressed down you can let go of the button on the side. Because it is compact and lightweight it is easy to maneuver it around items. Just a great lightweight powerhouse!

Bought one last year to trim front yard. It worked well but seemed to meet its end earlier this year. Tried to charge the battery. Still no power, so I bought a new weed eater. When the new one came, I assembled it charged the battery and the new one worked. Being who I am, I tried to bring the old one back to life, too. Voila! Number one came back to life. Now I have two, and will keep them both. For the price and being battery-powered, they work well. Only caution--be careful if you use the plastic blades. I was using one of them, hit a rock, broke the blade and had a difficult time-consuming job to reinstall a metal blade. The is my only complaint, and it was partly my fault. I think this is a good buy for the money.

It was easy to put together and easy to use. My grandson loves it!

I got this wheedwhacker just to do a little bit of the front of my apartment, and since it was insanely lower in price compared to other electronic weed whackers, I figured I’d take a chance but didn’t expect much.Well, was I surprised. The assembly was easy, the only con is the charger dongle is kind of hard to stick in the battery, it seems it may not be exactly the correct size but either way I did get it to charge halfway pushed in.After setting it all up (took less than 5 minutes). I tried it, first with the plastic blade attachment. It worked great for smaller weeds and grass but did struggle a bit with thicker taller weeds/grass. So I then decided to try the metal blade. Amazing! Cleared everything in seconds.I also had a little piece of a tree branch annoyingly hitting my bedroom window whenever there is any wind, so I figured why not try the saw blade attachment. Trimmed the tip of the brand in seconds - no more noise now!All in all, this may not be a great tool for heavy duty landscapers or people with large properties, However if you are on a budget and just want around your house looking neat and tidy, for this price, you won’t find anything better. I highly recommend!

First time I used it I thought it was great, 2nd time it keep turning off after a few seconds. Now it has completely stopped working!!

I would give 5 stars. Especially for the price it is a powerful weed whacker and trimmer. Pretty easy to put together. The battery is fast and easy to charge, and it holds a fair charge for the work. The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating is the extras (gloves and safety glasses) are cheap. But the machine itself is great!

Product is fine. Just need the correct charger.
