My parents’ calico cat has been weary of all humans since she’s been spayed and became a part-time outdoor cat. Outside, she’s had run ins with stray cats and other animals (nothing too serious), but it has her on guard all the time. Unless she’s interacting with my parents, or me if I’m visiting for at least a week, she will not let you touch her and will hiss/claw. She’s actually a super sweet and loving cat but just doesn’t trust people- like she’s in a constant state of “survival” mode and constantly at least a little stressed. I believe being in nature and susceptible to the risks outdoors has made her this way. In fact, I noticed a difference the first time she leaped through the window and was lost for a night. When I finally found her in a bush that night, it was like our sweet cuddly cat didn’t know me anymore. She was in survival mode and trust was being too vulnerable. Since then, she craves the outdoors (but only in nice weather & always sleeps at home), and my parents feel strongly that her life would be deprived if she were kept indoors. I tend to agree. Hence, she’s a part-time outdoor cat, which means she has a lot of adventure and experiences but also an increased baseline stress level when it comes to interactions that require trust.Sorry for the novel but wanted to paint a picture. I got this for my parents for Christmas and within literally 15 minutes, our sweet kitty was playing in the center of the room with a room full of family and friends, including some strangers to her. She was even letting random people pet her! Like enjoying them touching her and just seemed overall way more calm and at ease. It’s still early and we’re on the first use but I don’t see how it could go wrong from here. Only positive experiences so far, and I plan to refill as soon as the insert is close to empty after reading other reviews of increased heat. I’ve also read that the insert will never look “empty” even if a refill is required so it’s important to replace within a month or so b/c looks like some people’s wicks have become overly hot (fire hazard). Again, this has not been my experience but it’s only been 2 weeks - only positive experience with this product so far.

My cat, Penny, was going to get spayed and normally, she doesn’t like to go to the vet. It’s amazing how our pets just know when they’re due for a visit. To prepare in advance, the vet had recommended calming items such as the spray and diffusers. These help keep our pets calm, especially cats. So looked up the ones with the best reviews, and the cat calming diffuser and pet anti anxiety popped up. Pricing was just right and the reviews seemed great. I placed an order and it arrived on time. I put the diffuser about 3 days before my fur baby’s scheduled spay and did see her more relaxed and calm by the time we were on our way to the vet. The beautiful thing of this product is that it’s suppose to last 30 days. I feel it didn’t last 30 days but more about 20 days since I had it on all the time. After Penny’s spay, kept her in the bedroom where the diffuser was plugged in. I do think this helped her and us during her recovery. I’m definitely going to continue using this whenever we’re planning another vet visit or a move. The diffuser is about the size of a glade plug-in. Small but effective!

Since I am highly sensitive to smells, I was worried this would have a weird, awful smell but was pleasantly surprised that this gives off an uplifting type of essential oils scent.I have used it off and on around my cats since they were having trouble dealing with a new kitten in the home, and I think it does help. The only issue I really have with it is that it goes quickly! So I cannot keep this plugged in all the time, like I'd prefer, and have to use it more strategically.I don't see a super dramatic change in behavior, however, it is true everyone is getting along much better since utilizing this diffuser, and I think it is genuinely helping.For the price and how quickly it diffuses, I may run in to having to decide on this or the spray stuff instead.My friend who came in the house said it smelled like a man's cologne. I think it smells more like a mix of essential oils. It can be very strong though, so my only wish is that this could be made with different settings, (i.e. 1, 2, 3 dispensing amt), kind-of like some of the plug in air fresheners have. That would be extremely helpful, and would make the product last a bit longer as well (read: more budget friendly!) Still, I'd recommend this to anyone with anxious kitties in the home, it's definitely worth trying out.

Bought this to try to help my cats fear of thunderstorms, not even 2 days after plugging in she is non stop crying, meowing and trying to break down my door in the middle of the night, even going as far to try to avoid this room completely even though her food and litter box is in here. After her never doing this before and suddenly stopping as soon as the diffuser is unplugged I would not recommend this product, it made her have anxiety when she never did before.

I've only had this plugged in for 10 days and it's already done! The price of 2 refills is also more expensive than to buy 2 new kits which seems ridiculous!
