I had been looking at some new knives for a while as my husband and dad are both chefs knives are important in our family I was originally going to get the Damascus steel set but as I am only a home cook I didn’t want to spend a lot of money I just wanted something easy to use and sharp I really wasn’t sure at my choice until I used them they are really good knives I was very pleased with them even my husband was impressed with them they look great have nice weight love the block and honing rod and my husband likes the fact that the set came with some lovely steak knives so overall I would recommend them I love them and if you are looking at them thinking do I really want to spend this much on kitchen knives the answer is yes with knives you get what you pay for and these knives definitely deserve the 5 stars and are worth the extra money and if you can get a discount even better

It is a bit pricey but very good quality which I would recommend this knife. It makes chopping veg and meat so much easier. The design of the handle is good

Very good value knife for filleting fish ,comfortable to use. Came in a very good box for safety. Just the correct thickness blade .

First and foremost, this is a beautiful knife set and is very sharp out of the box, however I had one steak knife that was slightly warped in the blade. This was resolved quickly by Amazon with a knife replacement.Now I almost didn't purchase this set because of some lack of information and some that was inaccurate. The knife handles are not plastic but are made of Pakkawood. The blades have a hardness of HRC 58~60. Also anyone who is thinking of buying this set should really look at Shan Zu's website on the items specifications because it has so much more information on there than here.And yes, it is German Stainless Steel.MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCEEach knife has some weight to it which is lovely, the blade itself is strong and sharp. It truly is a beautiful set. I will update of course if I notice any sign of rust or other imperfections.SHAN ZU: You would sell ample more knife sets if all the information about the set is exactly like the website because I for one won't touch plastic handles which if I breadths listing at face value I would not have touched it but I noticed the picture of the handle on here not looking plastic and I did some research on the product.Thanks guys!

This knife is super super sharp so be careful! It’s a large knife and those of us with dainty hands need to be alert the whole time handling! It comes in a very attractive black and red box that I simply can not put in a drawer so it is on display 😅 I’ve no idea how long it will stay this sharp but I’m hoping quite a while. I’m very pleased with this purchase, it’s well made and good value for money as I will only use this knife - my other knives are being binned due to their inability to cut an onion or potato.

After years of using what I thought were pretty reasonable knives, it got the point when I was trying to cut through some bread and I said to myself 'surely this shouldn't need sawing'.Settled on this knife and, Oh Lord, the difference!! I was, and have been, very careful when using it. Cutting through crusty rolls, slicing onions etc just because I'm so impressed with it's sharpness. Minor cut on the finger and thumb, even with caution, so be very careful. Makes cooking so much easier and quicker!
