They don't fill up with material and are reusable many times. Not as good as 3M, but much cheaper.

I've used these on a couple of projects now, and they have come in pretty handy. I used them to sand some contours on serving tray handles and to smooth up some wooden bottle openers. Theses sanding sponges worked really well, and working through the grits (60, 120, 220) gave me a very nice surface and made sanding the curved surfaces very easy. I enjoyed using them.The biggest downside is that the 60 grit sponges in particular did NOT hold up very well. They lost grit at an alarming rate--to the point that at first I couldn't figure out why the dust I was creating was black. It took a moment to realize that it was the actual grit from the sponges mixing with the wood dust. This was a little disappointing, as I was going to use that dust to help fill in some knot holes later. You can see the bald spots on the sponges in the pictures. The lighter, bluish areas are smooth to the touch now. (The higher grits didn't seem to have this issue as badly.) Also, the 60 grit sponges started to tear pretty easily if caught on a corner or sharp edge.I understand that sandpaper products are consumable, and they are going to wear out, but these wore out much more quickly than I expected. I'd really have to think twice before ordering these again. They are handy and convenient, but eventually could prove expensive, if I had to keep replacing them.

These are easy for little hands to grip. They fold easily for use on oddly shaped objects.
