Q: I applied it on the edge of leather watch strap, and it scratches off easily, why does it do that? How can i prevent this?

you should put some super glue on it first, then use the edge kote. I had to do this to my last purse strap. You may also need to take an emery board and shape it before putting on the edge kote. The only thing I can suggest so that it doesn't scrape off, try some clear nail polish over it. And yes, it will peel off of real leather too. LOL.

Yes, it may stain clothes. It is really for coating edges of leather, but it does dry good, but wears off. Waterproofing would probably requirre a clear coating. But, even then i have seen clear coat absorb water.

Q: Can this fill the cracking leather on a purse strap? or it just leather paint?

It is pretty much leather paint, and it takes several coats to do the edging. I would use some epoxy or strong glue if the strap is breaking, and then use this to coat over it. It is glossier with more coats, but one or two wouldn't be too glossy over the crack.
