Q: Does the rapid fire button work as a double-click button?

Not sure, it does work as an auto clicker if held down continuously. Kids use that feature in Roblox. Makes me think it does

Q: Is this compatible with playstations or does it need an adapter?

I used this with a pc it’s usb which PlayStations have so it should work I haven’t used this one for a playstation but I have used other usb products with playstation (mouse keyboard etc) so it should work with this
