To being, I bought these on offer for £23, more as an experiment as 10x this price is normally my minimum starting point for "seconds". That said, I was only after a rubber soled cheap pair to wear in the bad weather to reduce bad weather wear on my other far more expensive shoes.Here's where the problem starts, the leather (it says it's leather but i'm not convinced!) is just incredibly porous. You can put a drop of water on the surface and these shoes just suck it right in. I figured the "leather" needed conditioning so even treated them to my expensive Saphir Pommadier cream...slurp! In it went, sucked in like...well you can figure out that metaphor ;)I tried following up with Saphir hard wax and even sprayed with waterproofing agent. I knew I was now ready for a spot of rain. So, in the first storm recently, I ran across a car park and go figure, my feet were getting wet from the top. I looked down and the "leather" uppers were dark in colour, soaked through.At this point, I have to consign these to being completely unfit for anything other than dry weather. Any water marks will soak in, taking contaminants with them and cause water spotting, these were a challenge to buff out and the "leather" upper is just so soft that it scuffs incredibly easily.I might just wear them around the house as slippers!

These shoes are so comfy and look very smart, but Clarks seem to be suffering from wear issues on the outer heels, this is the second pair I have had now that have worn through in 3-4 months on the outer heel, the rest of the shoe are still like new. if you don't wear daily you will probably be ok.

Bought these based on reviews and "the look"on line! Totally exceeded expectations. Snobby husband ( lol) only expects you can get a good shoe for over £250 so this was my challenge! They fit well, look good and he says they are very comfortable! He needed a smart , comfy , everyday wear shoe, to go with casual trousers and these look really nice. The bit of stitching along the front just adds the touch of class required and they look great!! He loves them and most important , as I have to look at them , so do I !!!! They look really, really good and he says, really comfy!! Well done Clarkes... You have a new very happy customer! I bought these for work as I seem to have a habit of getting through a cheap pair of work shoes every 3-6 months (I work in Pathology so they are usually subject to chemicals and lots of power walking round the hospital). These have lasted me over a year so far and are still going strong. They are very comfortable and look really good. Thanks to the usual bargain of Amazon, these cost about the same as the supermarket shoes I'd usually go for but have lasted so much better. Will try to buy these again when they do finally fall apart on me.

I am usually a size 9 1/2 but buy size 10. I bought these 9 1/2 and they fit just right, have a little give.They are super comfy, the leather feels tough enough to know it will mold around my feet. I like the little stretchy patch just beneath the top lace, this helps with pulling on the shoe or when feeling lazy and I want to kick off my shoes without unlacing them (I don't do this often).My other shoes are a pair of Loake shoes, and I haven't managed to find any other pair which has the comfort and quality to substitute them especially now that I don't see many colleagues/clients.
