I've been having quite a few kitchen fails lately and began to suspect the oven was acting up. I figured a thermometer was cheaper than a new oven, so I picked up this oven thermometer. It confirmed my suspicions: the old beast is on it's last leg, I'm going to need to replace it soon. While I wait for a decent stove to go on sale, this thermometer has helped me bake sourdough and roast chickens to perfection. My only complaint is that the little hook sticks up a bit and won't let my dutch oven slide off the rack; I need to lift it up and over the hook, which is tough when the dutch oven weighs close to 30lbs when full and I have a bad back.

I suspected that our oven wasn't reading the correct temperature so went looking for an in-oven hanging thermometer that I could easy read without opening the oven, sure enough this fit the bill. Guess what? Yep the oven was reading the wrong temperature, now I know to set it 25 degrees hotter so I get a true 350! I also found a "hot spot" in the oven so now can take that into account and rotate my cookies.

I’d had trouble with food overcooking in the oven in our new house so got this oven thermometer. It works well! Our oven is about 50 degrees too hot and this seems accurate. I use this thermometer regularly in the oven, pretty much daily, and it’s holding up well. It has gotten some discoloration, probably from smoke where a sugary batter fell to the bottom of the oven and burned. It fits in the oven with a quarter size sheet pan. Easy to just place on the oven rack to the side. I’ve had some issues with knocking it down while adding or removing things from the oven. You could also hang it on the rack from a little hook. I would purchase again.

Easy to read and accurate. When I picked it up off my porch it had dialed in to the outside temperature.

Purchased the temp gauge to check oven temp, which I thought was low. Set oven to 425 F to do a roast and the new gauge was spot on! A nice piece of equipment.
