Stant 10079 Oil Filler Cap, Silver

Just like Amazon predicted: It would fit my 1980 MBenz 240D engine. By the way, my old cap flew off after 40 years of use, perhaps I didn't tighten it enough. I discovered this very early so the oily mess was easily cleaned up. Egad could have been so much worse. PS the fuel cap also fits in the engine oil cap position.

The OEM cap on my 73 Beetle Was starting to show its age, so rather than replacing the cork gasket I decided to purchase this one instead. Tit's easier to scew in and out, abd has a firmer, solid rubber seal/gasket. Time will judge its durability, but for now works ok.

This was a perfect fit for both my 1988 535i and 1990 735i. The metal construction is much better than the brittle plastic it replaced.

I bought this item with the assumption that it would fit on a 1999 Audi A6 2.8. Not the case. In fact, a different cap that Amazon says doesn't fit this vehicle actually fits. Amazon needs to work on properly cataloging their items, as I have found this to be the case with other things they sell. It's a pain to have to return the item, do extensive research, and buy the right product that Amazon claims will not fit.Aside from the compatibility issue, thie design and construction appears cheap.06/08/14 UPDATE: Contrary to Amazon's fitment guide, this cap does NOT fit a 2008 VW Touareg 3.6 V6. I don't know why Amazon lists this cap as compatible with a number vehicles that are not actually compatible.

Although this cap seals great, and appears to not leak so far like my last oil cap, it does not fit my 2001 vw Passat v6 like Amazon said it did. I had to use tin snips and cut the lip off the cap to make it fit. But once I did it sealed very well.

It simply doesn't fit. Does not fit my 2003 Audi A4 Quattro 3.0. Maybe I'm doing something wrong because Stant and Summit Auto both say it will fit my car. It might fit if the lock spring inside was taken out. Tried contacting Stant to no avail. Very disappointed.
