I would assume it would depend on the look your going for. if you want the antiquing to build in your tooling no, however if your looking for a distressed look I would think you would but I've never tried to deglaze leather before

Q: Can I use this product with something that has pro stain for an antique finish look or should I just use the antique finish that is already tinted?

This can be custom tinted with your pro stain before being applied for that antique finish. This will settle in the tooled areas for the affect.

Q: Is this water based or oil based?

Fiebing's antique leather stain is an acrylic water-based stain. Fiebing's Professional Dye is oil-based, as described on bottle. Fiebing's also produces water-based dyes like that sold as Eco-Flow by Tandy.

Works well to make foreground stand out from background in carved or stamped leather projects. Works well on undyed or dyed leather crafts. Excellent smooth application and rubbing, or burnishing for depth of color.
