Great adapter for cases where you have mixed ports for direct connect
I recently set up a 40gig Mellanox adapter in one of my workstations, but didn't get around to installing a 40gig adapter in the NAS. I used this adapter and a 10gig connection (first 10GBase-T transceivers on both ends with a cat8 cable, then a 10gig DAC) to get beyond the gigabit speeds built into my workstation.The 10GBase-T transceiver got hot with this adapter, so I'd avoid it if possible. But with a somewhat random 10gig DAC (direct attach copper) cable going into the Mellanox 10gig on the NAS end, it was flawless.No complaints about this QSA adapter itself. Worked great, saved me a lot of time transferring large files.
