Very good overall and at a really great price

First impressions are very good overall. I used to have something similar in the 80s, a large set of “cans” with a built-in FM tuner. They remind me of those great headphones, long gone, but this pair by a now well known brand of Retekess are of better overall build quality and audio-wise they do sound surprisingly good and they are comfortable over-the-ear for over-the-air.The design is well thought out and so far battery life seems good on just a couple of AAs, and that’s another point, better to have batteries you can swap in and out rather than a built-in rechargeable, that’s my preference anyway, no recharging here.Functionality is really good with a very fast power on and memories to save FM stations, v intuitive, after a short time you get to know the buttons without even looking, all located on the right side as well as the “rubber ducky” antenna which is better than having a telescopic.I can’t recommend these headphones any higher and 5 Stars to Retekess for coming up with this beauty and an unreal low price. Top marks!

cheap and cheerful, good recption, sounds good and more than loud enough. impressed.

Wasn't expecting much here for the price. They're cheap and cheerful. Couple of AA batteries, used them now on and off for days and have yet to change the batteries.I bought these in combination with one of those little FM transmitters that are self powered and just sit in a 3.5mm socket for listening to tunes and stuff wirelessly from an old laptop thing where the bluetooth doesn't work etc and tbh they do the job really well. The sound quality is a lot better than I expected for the money. It's on par with most £20 quid Bluetooth sets.Pros:Normal batteries - no faffing about charing them up, no built in obsolescenceBattery life - really good. Haven't got through my first pair of AAs yet!Tuning - Digital, lots of presets, difficult to accidentally retune in use.External "rubber duck" antenna - make you look a bit like a telly tubby or something but you're not going for the aesthetics if you're buying these :) Reception strong as a result.Loudness - plenty loud enough.Closed backed - works well on the bike (I know, I know...) but buts out traffic noise etc which is handy for talk radio or audio books etc.Comfy - the "clamping" effect is a bit on the slacker side than say a pair of radio ear defender or something. This means they're not crushing your ears which is a good thing. Can wear these things all day and they don't hurt which is more than can be said for a lot of other headphones.Cons.Digital tuning presets is mental. I don't normally have to go to the instruction book for any electronics as even the obscure stuff is normally intuitive enough for me. Worst design ever on this. However, if you're rain man you won't have any problems. No AM tuning - not really a con because they're up front with this in the advert but would be nice.Russian / Chinese band FM - (this might be a pro if you want that kind of thing), adds time to the auto scanning for FM stations as you've basically got an additional block (50 something to 87.5MHz) where there's literally no broadcasts happening in the UK. This could be a pro if you also have a dodgy Chinese FM transmitter box that uses these frequencies - albeit illegal, you won't have any problems with station clashes, lol.Buttons. A nondescript grid of buttons to memorise the location of functions if you don't want to be taking the headphones off to look at the controls to do basic things like retuning or turning the volume up and down. I get this keeps costs to an absolute minimum, but like the memory presets this is a terrible idea from a usage perspective, however, it's useable if you've got the patience to remember this stuff :)All in all I can't fault these for the money. I was expecting the sound to be, well, awful and was pleasantly surprised. They're ideal for the intended use, which might be a bit niche, but there you go. They're my go to headphones now if I'm not wanting notifications from the phone or the faff thinking about what to listen to, haven't listened to proper FM radio for ages, but it's a bit nostalgic and to be honest a bit of a relief to just grab these and see what's playing on Greatest Hits Radio or whatever.Bonus being if I lose them or they fall off and get run over or something, it's hardly going to break the bank replacing them.

Just a radio. Simple to use.

It's not as easy as you would think to source a pair of radio headphones. I needed them for use when gardening. Most these days are for pairing to a smartphone but I'd loose my phone for sure if I took it anywhere near the garden so I just wanted a basic set.For the price £11.99 at time of purchase, they are great value, one of the others available is £40.00, to put it in perspective. They look really flimsy which I was a little worried about but so far they have withstood everything I have been up to when they have been on my ears. That involves a fair amount of pushing through bushes so they have done well. There are a lot of buttons. I don't know what most of them are for. I managed to tune in my local station of choice so I just leave it there and only use the off/on and volume buttons now.The buttons are tiny, the problem with that is that if a song comes on that I like and I want to turn up the volume, I need to take off the headphones to make sure I'm hitting the right button, otherwise I'll hit the wrong one, knock it off the station and spend the rest of the good song trying to get back to it!I think it would be better to have fewer, larger buttons but it's a small niggle really as it's no great hardship to take them off for a moment.I've been using them with Amazon basics rechargeable AA batteries and am very happy with my purchase!

Great quality

Bought it for my Dad and he’s absolutely delighted with it!! Only thing I would say is that the instructions on how to manually save a radio station is badly worded. Still not able to figure it out. Therefore I had to drop it to 3 for the annoyance of that. Other than that it sounds great and it’s comfortable.
