They work as described
They work well and have a lot of advantage for ice fishing. I'm going to try them from spring crappie as well and I'm sure they will work for that.The only negative is the price. Not the most expensive materials, but bobbers are expensive for some unexplained reason.

Perfect solution for slip bobber ice fishing
Super cool! Never heard of these till recently, but will never use another ice bobber. Keeps from freezing, and it very sensitive even to light bite!
